Grace Notes:

One of my favorite things about springtime is lambing. I love walking into the barn to the unmistakable sound of a lamb bleeting at the top of its newborn lungs. Even more exhilarating, is peeking into their little pen a day later and finding them still strong and healthy. It doesn't take much for a lamb to go downhill. I should know - I've watched it happen a dozen times. But this year, God showed me a picture of His faithfulness. I spent a lot of time watching lambs learn to walk, eat, and play. Every time, I stood in awe of the grace that keeps these babies alive. God has equipped them with the skills to survive, but even then they sometimes need a boost of encouragement and care to keep them going. And He gives it, whether it be through me, or simply the miracle of His grace. There is only so much I can do as their shepherdess, but when my skills fall short, his goodness takes over. God's creation is a miracle, and not one that He created beautifully only to abandon. He cares for His creation. He is faithful to care for the lambs, the sparrows, and the lilies of the field... … and for you. "Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows." (Luke 12:6-7)
